A little change around the house...

I moved things around in the living room. I don't know why but fall inspires me to change things up. The living room feels so much more cozy.

This little guy just makes it all the more cozy.

Do you change your rooms around for the seasons?

Budget

I created a Budget Binder and a cash envelop.

I gathered all supplies needed. They are now always close at hand.

My homemade cash envelop. (cheesy)??

This is the project I am most excited about. Over the last few years I have been very lazy with my budget. Very Lazy! So I got with it and have been following A Bowl full of Lemons post on creating a budget binder ( works really well with Dave Ramsey cash system). I am so excited to see how this works. At one time I was very good at tracking our money. Hopefully, I will return to it with out grief. :)

Laundry Room Finished... almost

I used some drawer liners that I purchased a million years ago to cover the ugly wire shelves.

I changed out the basket that I keep my dish clothes and napkins that are awaiting laundering.
Just so you know I don't sling them in the basket wet things are draped over the side to dry. I don't want mildew.

Tom Kitten, who soiled his mittens is still unsure of his new litter box. I have my fingers crossed.

The ironing board is hung on the door so it doesn't fall over.

Still needed are a plastic bag holder and a picture over the dryer. Hmmm, I need to find a frame.

ps
Tom Kitten aka fatty, got his name because his crazy mom mixed up two stories, Tom Kitten and The Three Little Kittens. It is a good thing he can't read because he might be a little peeved with me.

Organization- clean it up and clear it out.

I have been following A Bowl Full of Lemons Home organization for a while. But a few weeks a go I decided it was time to give it a try. I am very pleased with the results. I cant tell you how happy it makes me.  You see I live in military housing and have little if no leeway to create my dream house. I have standard kitchen cabinets, hospital sticky tile floors, ugly wire shelves and the list goes on. So after living here for over two years I am taking control of my home... It will be mine, I will work with what I have and make it beautiful to me. Although, I must confess, I drool over Toni's house over at a bowl full of Lemons. I love her kitchen and her style. Clean, simple, pretty and uncluttered. I even love her white walls. Here is another confession- I am terrified of color! I love the look in the magazines, and blog land. But I really am afraid of color, or maybe I just love white!

So here are my ugly wire shelves in the Laundry Room. New Baskets and Labels really do tame the clutter. I still don't like looking at the wire, so I am going to find a fix. I don't like ruffles and no curtains-so these are out of the question. Does ANYONE have any ideas?

I need to fix the top shelf

P.S. I will show the whole laundry room once I am finished and the kitten has adapted to his new litter box. One is really stinky and the other EMPTY! I don't know if it is going to work. The directions said place both together and don't clean the old one. I am on day two... and I had to remove some of the little offenders that were assaulting my nose. Pray for me!

Mr. Fatty

I would like you to meet the newest member of our family. Fatty, our little faux rag-doll kitten. He is just the sweetest little guy. I didn't think I would want a kitten/cat. But this little guy melts my heart. He is a cuddle bug and puppy like, he follows us where ever we go. He loves to play and has very stinky pooh. (not a huge fan of kitty boxes). I used to cure myself of wanting a cat by visiting pet smart, entering the glass room full of large cats and their litter boxes. The smell is so awful, that it had keep me from succumbing to the sweet meows.  That is until I saw this little fellow.
I complain to him every time he uses his box because it gags me. Truly! However, when he looks at me it is just to sweet.
